Important Facts About E-Liquids

Jan 16

E-liquid is the liquid that goes into an e-cig. Some people also refer to it as the e juice. The electronic cigarette heats up the e-liquid and converts it into vapor. This is then inhaled to offer a smoking-like experience. However, you need to keep in mind that it may or may not have nicotine. You have different flavors and choosing best e juice becomes quite difficult.

What are the Common Ingredients of E-Liquids?

The e-liquid that goes into e-cig contains a combination of vegetable glycerin, propylene glycol, ethyl alcohol, flavoring, nicotine, and distilled water. Remember, all e-liquids does not have the same ratio of VG and PG. While some e-liquids use extracts that are complex to produce, other uses flavorings. The e-liquids might vary from single flavor to multiple flavors which taste different from inhale to exhale. Some unusual elements like caffeine and vitamins are also infused in the e-liquid.

Steeping the E-Juice

Steeping the e-liquid is quite similar to allowing good wine to age. It is done to bring out the smoother and deeper flavor over time. Make sure that you shake your e-liquid before steeping it for homogenizing the mixture. If you have an e-liquid that has a strong flavor then you can remove the top cap and allow the bottle to breathe for mellowing the flavor. However, if the flavor of the e-liquid is on the weaker side then you remove the cap of the bottle and place it in a cool dark place for a full week. The last thing you can do is to place the bottle of e-liquid in a warm water bath. You have to repeat the process few times before the water attains room temperature.

If you have just shifted to e-cig from traditional cigarettes then you should go for e-liquids with a high concentration of nicotine. While, on the other hand, if you are just shifting flavors then opt for e-liquids with low or zero content of nicotine.
